Boycott Boston

January 31, 2007

Today is a sad day for Americans. As I watched news unfold today my feelings went from joyful to disturbed. For those that dont know, there have been multiple lightbrite-looking ads all over a few cities. These ads were of a popular character on a cartoon Aqua Teen Hunger Force. These small ads were placed for promotion. Despite having been around for 2 to 3 weeks, the good people of Boston decided the invisible timers on said bombs were ticking down to zero. So they called in the devices as bombs. Do Bostoners have no common sense?

To make matters worse, the great city of Boston had a witch hunt and had to find a scapegoat for their own stupidity. So why not choose Peter Berdovsky or Arlington, one of the people PAID to put these up. This whole ordeal is now being labeled as a hoax. Where is the hoax? All I see is the stupidity of others. What really grinds my gears is 1. The stupdity of some people and 2. Their stupidity having a person arrested. When I have to worry about being arrested over the stupidity of others is when I start to evaluate my living situation in this country, and whether or not I should move out of the country.

Productivity

January 30, 2007

Last night I went to the grocery store to buy steak and cheese to make a delicious cheesesteak.  Sadly, they didnt have the steak for cheesesteak.  Ever been to another country and speak the non-native tongue?  It kinda feels like that.  Somehow, I came home with chicken lo-mein.  Go figure.

I just registered for classes for my last quarter at school.  I have social psychology, mapping and geospatial information, and my internship.  The first two I will have mondays, wednesdays, and fridays from 8AM to 10AM.  I get to sleep in on tuesdays and thursdays!  10AM to 4PM every day will be at my internship.  These 3 classes will put me at 182 credits out of a 180 required.  And yes, I am very happy.  June, here I come.

There Goes My Hero…

January 25, 2007

In recent news a Tier 3 sex offender moved in across the street from my aunt.  Article links can be found here and here.  It seems Megan’s Law did not work and no one was notified about this guy.  People learned about it from anonymous fliers that were put in peoples mailboxes.  My mother and aunt attended the town meeting about it.  One thing my mother told me is they don’t tell you how old the person was that he sexually offended.  There was just a checkbox checked that said “13 and under.”   I am told he sexually assaulted a 4 year old.  Now, my Aunt has always been the cautious one about her children.  She moved from Philly to Jersey specifically for a lower crime rate and schools.  She would seem to always be overcautious about letting her kids go out and play.  I always thought she was overreacting.  I guess she was right.

I posted an article last october about a guy that had child porn that lived down the street from me in New Jersey.  Things like these raise my awareness about the crime rate back home.  It’s kind of hard to see when you live far away.  It’s almost like watching a european documentary.  What we need back home is a modern day vigilante.  A do-gooder that will battle perverts and criminals.  What we need now is a hero…

Hey You!

January 22, 2007

I have been quite busy lately.  As you can see, I redid the design of my site.  It needed a little sprucing up.  I still need to update my resume and portfolio pages.  I would also like to change some of the fonts I use and the styling of my blog.  I have a big paper I am currently working on due in a few days.  I also have to take my final certification test soon.  Busy bee is the life for me.  Maybe that’s why I’m always tired…

The Weekend

January 16, 2007

PJ and I went snowboarding everyday of the three day weekend.  Conditions were very cold, but sunny.  We got about 3 to 4 hours in each day.  Yesterday I shouldn’t have gotten out of bed.  We went up the lift and after I got off, I went to strap my back foot in.  But, I noticed my strap was missing.  The lift operator then down-loaded me down the lift.  I walked back to the car and by a complete stroke of luck, found my strap.  It was right at the edge of the parking lot.  I took the strap and my board to the main lodge where a specialist gave me a new screw and tightened everything up.

PJ still has yet to figure out that when I snowboard, I listen to my Ipod.  I have told him many times that I listen to it.  Often he will talk to me but I wont be able to hear him.  We hit more rocks this weekend than I have all last season.  I really need to get my board waxed now.

Back in Class

January 11, 2007

I am back in class.  It’s our second day back and it started to snow a few hours ago.  I cant wait to go snowboarding this weekend.  We have a 3 day weekend!  I think when I get home tonight, I am going to set up my webcam on my desktop and stream live images from out of my bedroom window and onto my site.  This way everyone can see the weather here.

Happy Holidays

January 4, 2007

Christmas was excellent.  I was delighted when I opened up a brand new Nintendo Wii on Christmas Morning.  My mother stayed overnight on December 5th at a Walmart and bought 2 of them and 3 controllers.  It has been nonstop fun.  It’s kinda weird to see my parents playing video games.  But they love it.  We have been having so much fun playing multiplayer minigames.  A new target market of gamers is one reason the Wii will prevail over the PS3 and the Xbox360.

New Years was incredible.  One of my friends rented out a bar.  He invited about 100 people to come and celebrate.  It was good to see some people that I haven’t seen in two years.   Well, it’s 3PM, I just woke up, and I’m starving.  Later alligator…
