Burning For Mountain Rams

February 24, 2007

I was driving to Snowbird this morning when Burnin’ For You by Blue Oyster Cult came on, on my Ipod.  The opening lyrics go:

Home in the valley Home in the city Home isnt pretty Aint no home for me

Home in the darkness Home on the highway Home isnt my way Home Ill never be

There hasn’t ever been any lyrics closer to how I feel than that song.  So I’m driving up the canyon to Snowbird, and I thought “these mountains are really lacking some mountain rams.  I mean, what is a mountain without some goats?  I think our president needs to shift his focus to reintroducing wild mountain rams into mountain states.

Nightboarding

February 22, 2007

Yesterday, I got my stitches out.  My wound healed very nicely.  Now I wait for the scar.  Last night I went snowboarding with a bunch of classmates.  We went from 4 to 9.  Tickets were cheap.  We had some new guys and some experienced ones.  I had a great time.  It’s something we may start doing on wednesday nights from now on.

This morning I saw the greatest car ever, a brand new yellow suburban.  It’s color was very close to the color of my jeep.  I thought it was really good looking.  Back to slave labor(class haha) I go…

Root Canal Part III

February 19, 2007

I just had part III of my root canal. They put on a temporary crown. I go back March 12th for my final crown. I just took a painkiller for the tooth and am now completely wiped out. I think a nap is in order. In the meantime, I will discuss RSS.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. Basically, whenever an online newspaper or website publishes a new article, they have an RSS feed. This feed is updated by the website and is subscribed to by aggregators or readers. Imagine a newspaper made out of thin tvs with constantly updating stories. It’s pretty cool. I just started using Google Reader. I’ve already got tons of sites added, everything from news to weather to comics. This will come in handy. A lot of the time, I find myself surfing the web and reading news. This will bring the news to me. Minor conveniences in life are the cause of happiness.

Root Canal Part II

February 13, 2007

Yesterday, I had the 2nd part of my root canal done, and still have one more part to go.  Today the pain was pretty bad so I called the dentist to get painkillers.  I am typing this as my sight becomes dimmer from drowsiness.  I picked up the key to my new apartment today and checked it out during lunch.  It is pretty cool.  It has one less couch than my current place but seems larger altogether.  As of right now, all I can move are light things until my stitches come out next monday or tuesday.  I think it’s time for a nap…

Public Service Announcement

February 7, 2007

Surgery went well.  I have an appointment to get the stitches out in 2 weeks.  In the meantime, I am not allowed to lift anything over 20 pounds or go snowboarding.  Yeah, I’ll be moping around all weekend.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:  If you havent been out of the house in the past 5 years or only have change on you, DO NOT use the self check out lanes in stores.  They are a convenience for people who want to get out of the store faster than it would take a cashier to ring them up.  And under NO CIRCUMSTANCES take up more than one lane because you are there with your mother who is also paying in change.  There is no reason I should have to hold 20 pounds worth of cookie ingredients for 10 minutes while you putz around and let your son put quarters in the machine like the cash register conveyor belt is a Disneyworld ride.  I might never go back to Walmart again.

I’m going to bake cookies now.  Bye…

MCSD

February 6, 2007

I have been so busy. Yesterday, I had the first part of my root canal. Yeah that wasn’t much fun at all. Today, I took the 70-431 SQL Server 2005 certification test and passed with a 939, making me MCSD and MCTS certified. I’m pretty psyched about that. Finally, after 5 cert tests, my Microsoft certs are done with. What a load off my back!

Today, I was shown this link.  My school asked me to fill out a survey and take a pic for their site last week.  Tomorrow I have surgery at 2PM. I might try to go through with it without medication. Wish me luck. Thursday, we have a career fair. That will be fun. Well, over the next half hour or so, I am going to update my site. Until next time, goodnight internets…

Manliest Guys in Boston

February 2, 2007

Peter Berdovsky, 27, and Sean Stevens, 28, were held on $2,500 cash bond each. They were out by lunch. Below is a video of a press conference they had…about 70s hair. They understand how ridiculous the situation is and are treating it as such. Good job guys.
