Cheer Up Emo Kid

December 14, 2006

I was cutting a piece of duct tape from the carpet of my old apartment last night when I slipped and cut my wrist.  It wasn’t bleeding very bad, but it was deep enough where I knew I should go to the hospital.  I went to an after-hours hospital that was close by.  My roommate, Joseph, drove me.  So I fill out a form and a doctor’s assistant gets me situated.  She was the cutest little redhead.

The doctor comes in, takes a look at it, and makes sure I didn’t hit anything important.  He then says it looks fine and stitches it up.  So he leaves and the doctor’s assistant comes back to clean me up and bandage my 3 brand new stitches.  So we get to talking and I ask her for her number.  To which she replies “I’m married.”  Dumbfounded, I asked how old she was.  Eighteen was her response.  Tomorrow I have to get it checked out.  Luckily, that big steel bird will take me home tomorrow night.

TODO List: Pay internet bill, Change of Address with bank, Change of Address with post office, laundry, pack suitcases, and leadership paper.

In the Clouds

December 2, 2006

Today was the best day of snowboarding of the season so far.  The powder was absolutely incredible.  Sadly, the other side of the mountain isnt open yet.  It’s fresh pow teased me.  It was probably 2 degrees at the top of the mountain and I did not have my face covered, which was stupid.  I got my board waxed, which made it soo much faster.  I was bombing down the mountain.  My feet have been hurting lately.  I dont know if it is because i strap my bindings too tight, or because of my boots.  Ill have to try some new things.  At one point, the clouds were drifting under me, which was really cool.  Should have brought my camera…

Happy Thanksgiving

November 27, 2006

I went home for Thanksgiving, which was a suprise to my my family.  Only my parents knew I would be coming home.  It was good to be home and see family and friends.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Thanks everybody.  It is now Monday morning at 10:30.  Back to the daily grind I go.  I come back from break and our apartment looks like they filmed Speed 3 inside.  Sigh.

I have been looking high and low for a Nintendo Wii and can not find one.  I went as far as to going out at 5AM on black friday.  Target did not get any.  How could as large a store as Target not get any in stock for the biggest shopping day of the year?  I continue my search.  I have a good feeling I will have one by the end of the week.

The weather forecast is saying it is supposed to snow heavily for the next 7 hours.  They say its a 90% chance of rain/snow/mix.  Right now, it is none of those.  Good game weather forecasters.

Wiiiiii

November 16, 2006

I have been recently researching Nintendo’s new gaming console that comes out on sunday, the Wii.  It looks really cool.  I have been thinking about picking one up.  I am not one to normally game and haven’t since the N64 and Dreamcast, but the Wii looks really cool.  It uses detection in its controller that detects x, y, and z axis.  If you are playing a game with a sword or a golf club, you would swing the controller like a sword or a golf club.  Pretty cool idea.

This weekend Snowbird will be opening.  I am very excited.  I will be going up at 6 or 7AM on saturday morning.  I have to stand in line for about an hour or two to get my liftpass, but it will be worth it.  I hope PJ orders his season pass soon.  Although I doubt he will.  Who knows.  All I know is Saturday will be glorious.

New Hardware

November 11, 2006

This morning I was woken up by my phone, but I did not set the alarm. It was a lady from forex.com. Yesterday, I was searching for sites that had simulation stock market that I could play. Like an idiot, I signed up for this site. Like an even bigger idiot, I put my phone number in for one of the information fields seeing as it was required. So the lady calls this morning and says she saw I did not make any trades. How intrusive can a stock trading company get? What a major no-no of a company. I went to the site to find a place to delete my account, but could not find one. I had to join a chat with someone that works at the company and ask her to delete it. Three lessons learned: Do not submit your phone number to any site unless it involves a purchase. If you run a company, do not be intrusive to your customers. and If you run a company, DO NOT CALL PEOPLE AT 10:30 AM ON A SATURDAY MORNING.

On to the good news. I just went and bought a new Linksys wireless router this afternoon seeing as how a roommate will be moving out. I flashed the router with DD-WRT. I found a link on DD-WRT’s wiki that led to scorpiontek.org. This was one of the better tutorials I’ve read lately. It had pictures that made everything run smoothly. Now my 50 dollar router is a 500 dollar router and ive even noticed out internet going waaaaaayy faster! Well im off, theres kilobytes to be stoled…

Best 3 Days of My Life

September 24, 2006

The past 3 days have been the best 3 days of my life. Thursday night I went and saw The Who up in north jersey with my father. That might have been the best concert I’ve ever been to. Then I slept for 12 or so hours. After waking up, I drove up to north jersey again to hang out with Rory at Rutgers. I stayed the night up at Rutgers, had an awesome time, then drove home yesterday morning. Then, last night, I went to the Motley Crue/Aerosmith concert with Tim, Jeff, and Phil. That was an amazing concert. I am so tired from the last 3 days, but it’s something I needed. I love coming home.

Comfort Zone

September 18, 2006

Here I sit, in my own bed for the first time in months. I feel incredibly comfortable right now. Since I have come home, all has been well. Coming up soon on thursday, I will be going to The Who in concert. On saturday i’ll be going to the Aerosmith/Motley Crue if tickets aren’t sold out. I love being home. The Wawa Lemonade Ice Tea is incredible. I have two half gallons in the fridge right now.

Lolf

August 29, 2006

We had lolf (golf) this morning. My swing is getting really nice. In other news Warren Jeffs was captured. He is on the FBI’s top ten most wanted list and is from right here in Utah. Also, evidence proves that John Karr did not kill Jon Benet Ramsey. Why would someone want to take credit for a killing they didn’t do?

For some reason my desktop just felt like stopping its ability to play music yesterday. This happened for no apparent reason. Thanks Microsoft. I tried to go back to a recovery point and that didn’t work. And I don’t have a virus. The odd part is the computer will play Windows sounds just fine. When i double click on something or turn the machine on, i have audio just fine. Its when i try to play audio on anything besides windows sounds that it says im missing an audio stream. I really dont feel like fighting with Windows anymore. Ive been battling Windows for years and im sick of it. Im contemplating dual-booting Windows XP and Mac or Linux. Maybe I’ll triple boot all 3. I wonder if Mac OSX will run on my machine. Hmm.

The Goat

July 13, 2006

I haven’t updated in quite a while. Ive been busy with started school again and everything else. Today, I released Webisense(beta), which I am quite proud of. Last update I promised pics of my little sister playing pong with my grandfather:

That was the proudest moment of my sister. The other night I got Drew with the goat. Here is a pic of his 3rd kick out of 4.

4th of July

July 5, 2006

My fourth of july was absolutely incredible. We had an awesome barbecue and it was good to see family. Derrick, like an idiot, walked under a tree during a lightning storm. The tree didn’t get struck, but one of the branches blew up and down in the wind and hit Derrick in the head. He had to go to the hospital and get 4 staples in his head. Derrick’s new nickname - Staples. (more…)
